CORPUS OPERIS - WHAT IS LEFT AFTER WE PASS
[FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY]

Stories | Miami, Florida, USA | October 12th, 2022

As I progress in my journey through photography, the notion of my own mortality becomes increasingly prominent, especially in the face of birthdays and occasional reminders of physical fragility like the creaking of my lower back. Contemplating the concept of legacy, I find myself pondering what my body of work will convey about me when I am no longer present. The images I create, like imprints on the canvas of time, raise questions about the mark I’ll leave behind and the narrative my artistic endeavors will tell about my journey.

This question about legacy has unexpectedly intensified my contemplation, evoking a sense of emotional loss, particularly as I grapple with the vast expanse of artistic possibilities that time seems to limit. It feels as though I’ve just embarked on this creative journey, and the looming question of “what now?” echoes in the minds of many from our generation.

During this reflective period, “Alice,” a model I’ve longed to photograph, happened to be in town. Her natural, slender form, accentuated by almost otherworldly undulations, perfectly captured the essence I sought to convey. This collaboration resulted in “Corpus Operis,” a piece now enshrined in The Red Series, encapsulating the emotions and uncertainties that resonate with the current generation.

Hey, thanks for looking.
