Omega Watches launches new Seamaster on The Vessel
Miami Beach |Florida (November 2025)
I’ve shot plenty of product launches in Miami. Most involve walking through a door, finding good light in a ballroom or convention center, and capturing the usual moments. This one started a bit differently.
Omega unveiled the fourth generation Seamaster Planet Ocean on The Vessel Miami, a floating platform moored in the middle of Biscayne Bay. Guests didn’t just arrive at a venue; they crossed open water to get there. That journey became the opening sequence of the story.
Lartisien Events transformed the 4,000-square-foot space into a two-level experience. The lower deck became an intimate gallery for the watch collection. The upper deck opened to the bay with Miami’s skyline as backdrop. Lebasque Catering worked the floating kitchens while EPG handled sound. Everything flowed because the infrastructure supported it.
What made this compelling to shoot wasn’t just the location (though having 360 degrees of water and skyline doesn’t hurt). It was watching how the environment shaped the event. People moved differently. The light changed as the afternoon progressed. The watches themselves, designed to survive 600 meters underwater, were being displayed on actual water. The setting wasn’t decoration; it was part of the narrative.
This is the kind of event photography I’m after: where the location, the purpose, and the execution create something worth documenting beyond the standard coverage shots. Sometimes you get lucky and the story writes itself. You just have to be there to capture it.
